Driving through St Cloud we happened to stop at Michaels based on the mention of German food. It was very quiet at 6 on Thursday, service was quick and friendly. The menu has quite a few traditional choices as well as quite a few German/Austrian specialties. I got the sampler platter with sauerbraten, spaetzle, schweinebraten, schnitzel, sauerkraut and sausage Nice salad, good fresh baked bread that arrived hot. The food definitely reminded me of Germany/Austria so if you like that, you'll like the restaurant!! I will stop back if I'm in town.

The food here is amazing but the inside could use some updating as we had our wedding reception here 8 years ago and it hasn't changed a bit. It's almost only quiet in there but the owner provides amazing service and delicious food! I'd recommend it any time!

Prices were reasonable. They were not busy on a Friday night, perhaps because this cuisine is out of favor. Menu was quite broad. Wine selection was very good. Owner was there and was friendly, but not intrusive. My prime rib, ordered medium rare, was well done, but still very good. The Austrian red cabbage side was boring, and overcooked. Service was quick and friendly. Bread was home-baked there at facility, and delicious, served with real butter. Facility was very clean. My wife's fish was crispy and delicious. Her baked potato, served with sour cream, was excellent. We look forward to returning and trying more of their Austrian and German dishes. They have a buffet during the week.

Love this place. Went there for my college graduation dinner and Valentines day. Never a let down. Top 5 best places to eat in St. Cloud. Doesn't receive the attention it deserves. Has such an authentic feeling. It seems like the owners are an older couple who do run/do everything. Prime rib melts in your mouth. Their homemade rolls are to die for. I recommend this place to everyone. Always good to support local family owned restaurants, especially this one!!!

I took my mom here for the Mother's Day buffet based solely on the reviews online. So I was really shocked by this place. It's very run down and sorry but kind of a dump! There was a big hole in the ceiling where we ate and water stained tiles over our heads that looked like they were ready to fall on us! The decor, chairs, tables...just everything is old, dirty and uncleaned with a bad smell to boot! With reservations and no hope of getting in anywhere else, we decided to try our luck. The food was very avg. My mom gave it a 4 out of 10! I felt like I let her down on her day, luckily I paid so she didn't take it out of her pocket. She liked the fried shrimp a lot so there was that. I would avoid this place, even when you drive up, you know it's not going to be good just by how the outside looks rundown. Our servers were very good and cheerful, however, that was a bright spot!

Nice concept, but the food definitely leaves something to be desired. I would have been able to make the same food at home for half the price. The house white zin wine also left something to be desired.
